The new green Community Council noticeboard at Queen’s Buildings provided the last of the finishing touches to complete the improvements at the Station and shops. Walking and cycling to the centre of Lenzie should now be better, with wider, flatter footpaths, clearly marked crossings and some shrubs and trees to make the area more attractive. Much cleverer traffic lights have already improved the traffic flow. These include early release of cyclists who position themselves in the bike boxes. Plans to create 2-hour parking slots in Heath and Garngaber Avenues are going through the statutory approval process and should hopefully make shops and businesses more accessible.
