The Lenzie Community Council has been delighted to receive offers of financial help from local businesses for this year’s Gala. As well as a contribution from the East Dunbartonshire Community Grant fund to help with first aid and entertainment costs, the community council has received generous financial pledges to cover some of our ever increasing gala costs. Coda Estates have pledged £600 to cover the cost of the PA system and the parade pipers, Fleming Builders are giving us £300 so we can put up the bunting as usual, Miller Beckett & Jackson Solicitors have pledged £100 which will be put towards printing costs and Taylor Wimpey Builders have given us £500 for entertainment band MacUmba, a mix of bagpipes and Brazilian Samba percussion (bring your dancing shoes!). In addition, Memory Lane Flowers have offered to donate two bouquets for the Gala queen, one for her school crowning and a second for the big day itself. Add to this the fact that local dentist Andrew Meek (now working at the Millersneuk Dental Practice in the Queen’s Buildings) will be driving the Gala Queen in his 101 year old vintage car (as he has done for so many years) and it is clear for all to see what a generous bunch of people make up the Lenzie business community. There’s still time to get a stall at the Lenzie Community Gala. Contact us via Facebook and we’ll be in touch.
